Heather created quilts for 35 years.  Sadly Heather passed away suddenly July 3rd - 2013.  She left a incredible legacy in her community.  Traditional quilts were the beginning and soul of her art.  Combining these techniques with inspiration from Modern art created her Modern and landscape quilts - painting, dyeing, tearing and adding embellishments.

Her lifelong study of traditional quilts and needlework from around the globe and throughout history gave her the opportunity to accept some very exciting commissions: reproduction textiles for national museums, quilts for the movie industry and architectural quilts for private collections all over the world.

Heather was awarded the Manitoba Arts Council Crafts Grant and her work had been juried into National and International Shows and publications.

Her body of work can be viewed here and selected works will be available through Mermaid's Kiss Gallery and Jocelyn & Co. in Gimli, Manitoba, Canada.
